The museum is an open play space based on a theme. There are all kinds of things to play with and interactive play stations that are perfect for pre-schoolers. The location we went to was farm themed. The boys enjoyed playing in the barn with the hen laying eggs, "milking" the cow, the farm truck and the wheelbarrow. There were legos and other toys with which to build. Lots of big trucks. A garden shed, home and ice cream shop. It's one huge room, so you don't have to worry about losing a kid. It's big, airy and very clean. There are Playstreet Museums in 14 states, so if you are looking for a fun pre-school outing, see if there is one near you. SlooMoo InstituteFor your elementary aged/tween kids try SlooMoo Institute. (Locations in 5 major cities). SlooMoo Institute is the ultimate SLIME experience. You get to play, make and interact with all types, textures and colors of SLIME! Don't worry - you aren't going to come out soaking wet and covered with a slimy substance. You just handle the slime with your hands and it doesn't stick to you after you are done. It may gross you out to think about it, but I guarantee the kids will love it. Keeping it SimpleDo you know what my 8-year-old grandson, Jeffrey wants to do for his special Spring Break outing with me? He wants to go to Starbucks, get a cake pop and play board games. Which goes to show, you don't have to do something fancy or expensive with your grandkids. They really just want to hang out with you! THRIVE through LearningI've been learning a lot by watching The Chosen on Prime Video. The Chosen is a drama series that portrays the life of Jesus through the perspectives of those who encountered Him, including His disciples and followers. It IS a drama series so there is dramatic license taken as they present these Bible stories you've probably heard all your life. But I will say, the way the stories are told along with seeing how people in Jesus' time really lived and interacted has added such depth to my experience of reading the Gospels. THRIVE through ServingI served this week by showing my 16-year-old grandson how to make home made macaroni and cheese. The service part was cleaning up the kitchen after he was done.😂 His small group from church had a potluck and Parker was supposed to bring mac & cheese and queso. Would I have put those two items together on the same menu? No. But what can I say but "16 year old boys".😂 What I bought this weekThese laundry detergent sheets are my new "where have you been all my life?", must-have household product. No more lifting and spilling heavy jugs of laundry detergent. If you are a THRIFTER or love someone who is, check out this cute tee. I gave this to my master thrifter daughter, Allison, on her birthday. What are you watching? In addition to The Chosen, I'm also watching Severance and Bad Sisters on Apple+ and Running Point on Netflix. What are you watching? Write back and tell me! Until next time, Cathy Thriving through SERVICE, LEARNING and HAVING FUN! |

I spent most of May watching all the end of year grandkid programs and teaching my 16 year old grandson how to drive. That last one was a lot more time consuming than I anticipated and at times I felt like I had bitten off more than I could chew! One way I survived it was to make a Starbucks run every time we went out...
