Hey Reader, For the past few months, I've been prayer walking my street. I learned about this way of serving my neighbors from this book. There are 27 houses on my street and it takes all of 6 minutes for me to walk the street every day and pray for my neighbors, their families, healing if they are sick and any other needs they may have. The problem is that even though we've lived here for 10 years, I really only know 2 of my neighbors well enough to know what their prayer needs might be. I was on a prayer walk a couple of weeks ago when I felt a strong impression from God saying "You know, you can't really serve people if you don't even KNOW them. Invite them over for coffee." The "invite them over for coffee" part may have been the voice of my friend Sue Donaldson who truly has the heart for welcoming people around her table. Her motto is: Changing the world one cup of coffee at at time. Tea works too! So, I printed 27 invitations and put them on everyone's door. I made a pot of coffee and put out a basket of muffins. And last Saturday morning, I had 4 ladies (early 20's-early 70's) around my table whom I had never met. We had so much fun getting to know each other. 👰♀️We connected over mother of the bride issues and beautiful places to get married. 🤪Adjusting to husbands who cramp our style when they start working from home. 😀 😷And one lady shared that her husband continues to battle health issues from long COVID. I should also tell you that I had 8 women text me to decline because of conflicts in their schedule but said they want to come to the next gathering. I guess I'm hosting another gathering. It just goes to show that people long to connect. My challenge to myself and to you this week is to serve someone by connecting with them. You don't have to invite 27 strangers to your house to do it.😂 Thrive through LearningI joined the pilot program Strong and Vibrant at Home with Amy Connell. It's a 7 week strength training program for women in perimenopause and beyond. I am WAY beyond! We all know that strength training is essential to our health, especially as we age. But what to do? With what equipment? How do we do it safely? The workouts are tailored to work with your body where it is RIGHT NOW - not where it was 20 years ago. This is the first week and so far, I love it! Will give you a full report when I'm finished. What's in my cart:Are you looking for an Easter Dress? Chico's has some of the cutest dresses AND is having a buy one get the second 50% off sale. Hey Reader, When I was a little girl in the early 60's my parents both worked shift work. Mom worked days and Dad worked nights, which meant that Dad took care of my sister and me during the day. I have a vivid memory of running errands with my dad on weekday mornings. 💵We went to the Police Department to pick up his pay check. 💈To the barbershop for him to...

The humidity and mosquitos have arrived in Houston, so I guess we are! A NEW FUN Experience My friend, Meredyth, and I went to Artechouse Houston for the Blooming Wonders exhibit. This was the coolest thing. It was digitally created art depicting flowers, plants, butterflies and anything you that you would see in...

I spent most of May watching all the end of year grandkid programs and teaching my 16 year old grandson how to drive. That last one was a lot more time consuming than I anticipated and at times I felt like I had bitten off more than I could chew! One way I survived it was to make a Starbucks run every time we went out...
